Jasmille Workshop Early Bird Pricing Ends Soon

Important Reminder: Early Bird Pricing ends in only 2 weeks on March 12th!

Prices are as follows:

For only one day of the workshop (either Saturday OR Sunday)
Register before March 12th ~ $55
After March 12th ~ $65

For both days of the workshop (both Saturday AND Sunday)
Register before March 12th ~ $100
After March 12th ~ $120

Show tickets are $15 for all students/workshop participants, $20 for the general public.

Jasmille Gala Performance – We Need Dancers!

Important Reminder – only three weeks left to audition for our Big Show!

All auditions must be received by March 5th, 2010 to give us time to review all the submissions, and please keep in mind that each performance should be a maximum of 5 minutes long.

Don’t be shy, take advantage of this chance to strut your stuff!  Remember, without all of your wonderful performances we won’t have a show, so get in touch with me as soon as possible to make sure you get to participate.

Don’t let the word “auditions” scare you away – it’s not my job to judge your performances at all, it’s my job to make sure we don’t have 9 sword dances or 4 people performing to the same music!  Variety is the key word here, and so we welcome bellydancers of all styles and skills.  Would this be your first time performing?  Excellent!  You’re a 25 year veteran? Awesome!  Whatever bellydancing you’ve got tucked in your belt – bring it on!

So, get your yourself/your troupe organized, pick your dance, and get in touch with me ASAP!

P.S. Remember that if you’re in the show you get to see all the other beautiful dancers perform too!  No need to buy a ticket – Sweet!

Circle Skirt Workshop is Coming Up Next Week

Kesavah’s Circle Skirt Workshop is happening next weekend, Saturday February 13th.  This will be a small class so space is limited – contact Kesavah to register soon!

Come spend an afternoon with the ladies and discover that making a beautiful circle skirt does not have to be hard work – anyone can do it!

In this workshop we’ll make sure that we take all the proper measurements, make the necessary calculations, and in the end will each create our own individual circle skirt pattern that we can use over and over again.  And of course, we’ll learn how to construct our circle skirt and the various ways that we can wear it.

DATE: Saturday, February 13th, 2010
TIME: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
COST: only $20 – GST, drinks & snacks, and all supplies are included

Announcing – a 2-Day Weekend Workshop and Show with Jasmille!

It’s official!

Kesavah BellyDance is proud to present an exciting 2-Day Weekend Workshop and Show with Jasmille!

The Workshop is scheduled for April 10th & 11th (Saturday and Sunday) where we’ll be learning some sizzling technique and a fun Raks Assaya choreography.  The Show will be on Saturday, April 10th featuring Jasmille herself, local BellyDancers, as well as BellyDancers from all across BC.

New Classes Are Off With a Bang!

The first week’s classes went smoothly, it was great to see so many new faces in class!  It’s always amazing to see all the different ages and personalities of everyone who joins BellyDance, it’s so true that these classes can be fun for everyone.

I’ll keep posting any class notices here on this blog, as well as any upcoming events that my students might enjoy.

And, with the big weekend workshop that is coming our way sometime in April everyone can start thinking whether they’d like to take the opportunity to perform in the show or not – don’t be shy!  Performing is a great way to enhance your whole learning experience so just keep an open mind and we’ll see how everything develops.

I’m looking forward to another spicy and fun dance season with you all!

A New and Exciting Weekend Workshop is Coming!

I’m very, very excited and I’ve just got to let everyone in on this fantastic news!

I’ve been in contact with one of my most favourite dance teachers of all time, Jasmille, and we’re going to be putting together a weekend Belly Dance workshop here in Prince George, hopefully some time in April.  Hooray!

I’ve been wanting to bring her up here for the last couple of years and I’ve finally gotten my butt in gear to start to get it organized.  So, where we’re at so far is this:

  1. It’s going to be a full weekend workshop – that’s two days of excitement and learning!
    • Jasmille is famous for her awesome technique
    • You’ll also get to learn a new choreography (in which style is yet to be decided)
  2. There will be a professional show in the evening between the two days
    • Eventually I’ll be taking submissions for those that would like to dance in the show
  3. There will be a bazaar, of course

And that’s as far as it’s gotten.  As soon as I know what the dates will be you can be sure that I will let everyone know, and from that point it will all start rolling.

Hooray!   It’s going to be fantastic!

Only One Week Left to Register for Classes

Only one week left to register for BellyDance classes!

Classes are filling up fast so if you want to join in our Winter classes in January you must register soon!

The classes run for 10 weeks and each class is an hour and a half.  The cost for registration is $100.

Beginner classes are on Tuesday or Thursday nights from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.  All classes will be starting on the week of January 18th, 2010.

If you’d like to register and secure your space in a class you can get the registration form here, and remember that Kesavah BellyDance accepts cheques, cash, or if you’d prefer I can email you a PayPal invoice so that you can pay with your credit card.

Either way all registrations must be received no later than Sunday, January 17th so make sure to contact me as soon as possible if you are thinking of registering.

And as always, you can either email me or give me a ring at 250-562-8878 if you have any questions at all.

Revised Class Start Dates

All class start dates for Kesavah BellyDance have been bumped forward by one week.

Unfortunately I’ve been pretty sick over the holidays and it’s just not letting up quite yet, so I want to give myself lots of time to get myself back up to snuff, and to make sure that I don’t pass whatever I’ve got on to anyone else.

So, instead of starting classes starting in the week of January 11th as originally planned we’ll be starting in the week of January 18th instead.

On the bright side, these revised class dates mean that everyone has more time to register for classes!  Hooray!  It’s always good to look on the bright side of these things.
